Stay and Play is an enjoyable social event: your child plays with other children; you get to meet other parents, carers and child minders.
The accent is on fun: activities range from water and sand-play to arts and crafts, story-telling, music, song and rhyme, outdoor games, and – especially popular – a messy play area.
The sessions also have a serious side: children expand their horizons and learn important social skills; parents and carers can find out how to help their children with their learning. They can also pick up information about useful services, such as family support and welfare benefits. Registered child carers can get guidance on parenting.
The sessions cost £2 each and take place from 10am to 12 noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. A healthy snack is provided.
Me and my partner have been coming to Stay and Play with our two-year-old son who loves our activities, which have helped to improve his overall mobility and development. He now engages with other children and he really loves the age-appropriate activities provided by the staff.
Zosea is 15 months old now and we have been coming for the past few months: it is a great opportunity for her to interact /play/socialise with other children of different ages. We really appreciate the range of play activities, toys and stuff to play with – and she also enjoys Wiggly beats.
There is a lovely feel here, everyone is friendly and kind. Zosea now sits for snack time and is now familiar with the routine here. There is a lovely mix of familiar faces and a playful changing environment
